June

Ashton Trefoil Ladies. Now this was a night to remember! 9 ladies, of a certain age, around a table making teddybears! We had so much fun on this evening demonstrating, taking photos and seeing the ladies faces light up when eventually a teddybear emerged...Roll on next year!.

May

Happy 21st Birthday Tommy. Janets son.

April

Our Wonky Cake Workshop finally went ahead. We all thoroughly enjoyed this day. With everyone going home with a completed cake....Well done ladies
Thanks to Eileen for the lovely chocolates!
Eileen’s daughter was due to get married in April and came to us for help and advice. By booking on our Private Tuition Val was able to help Eileen cover and stack the wedding cake she had always wanted to do. The results were incredible.
We were also approached by a lady whose son was contemplating catering college we felt he wasn’t quite old enough to enrol for our cake decorating lessons so we came up with the plan for Ellis to join us for a week. He worked alongside us whilst incorporating the Beginners workshop. Ellis surprised us all with his natural ability for cake decorating. Good Luck Ellis!
Janet went to work with local charity “Friends of Young Carers”, working within support groups. The children were fantastic and enjoyed every moment. They work hard caring for family members and a bit of light relief goes along way. This is a very deserving charity..

March

R.L. Hughes Primary School - We volunteered our services to help out the children of Year 5 in Enterprise week. We demonstrated a bunny rabbit for them to make and gave them ideas for decorating cupcakes. We always enjoy going into schools on Enterprise week as it gives the children an insight into what we do and how they can make money from it.
Holy Family R.C. Primary School – Janet went to visit her local school in Platt Bridge for their enterprise week. She demonstrated to over 30 nursery children.... a challenge in itself.

March also saw the second of our Work Experience girls Sarah Bailey from St Edmond Arrowsmith High School. Sarah, the sister of a previous Work Experience Becca came to us for only a week but in that time helped us with our day to day routines.

February

Brought the 18th birthday of Kath’s daughter (our Saturday girl) Hannah. The cake we designed for her was reconstructed for our window display bringing lots of custom in.

January

Saw the start of our Work experience students – Sophie Herring came to us from Deanery High School. Sophie helped us with the day to day running of the business keeping all the stock up to date.
She completed her training producing a cake for her mum. Well Done Sophie.
